search for me

So it's apparent, we're terrible at blogging!

We have no excuses, we're just bad bloggers! We haven't blogged in a long time, but today I have a moment to collect my thoughts.

2014 was a huge year for us. We opened an office in The Valley, brought on the most fabulous edit assistant, traveled EVERYWHERE, at everything, put on a collective 15-20kg between us both, lived like kings and spent so much time with our family and friends. It truly was the best year ever. It makes me so excited for what 2015 is going to bring.

To kick off 2015 we were asked to capture a beautiful elopement in Montville. Beki & Jonny travelled all the way from London with their closest family and friends. It really was the most heart moving and intimate experience and we're so honoured to have been a part of their day.

For the rest of 2015 we have some stunning weddings booked and are preparing to work with some of QLD's finest vendors on some really unique collaborations. It's going to be a fun year!

Gosh we find it so hard to keep up with blogging! The past 6 months has been somewhat busy for us. We opened a new office in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. We've shot some gorgeous weddings and worked with some incredible vendors.

2014 has been a year of learning for us. We're such a fresh business in the world of wedding vendors and because we still have full time jobs, it sometimes gets put to the back of our minds during busy times.

We've at the pleasure of working with some of the best vendors in Australia and bellow are a few of our latests films to show off.

As a way of saying thank you for your support and helping us reach 1000 Facebook likes, we are giving away a free digital invitation/save the date.
If you're located in South East QLD we will travel to you to film a short 60 second film like any of those seen on our digital page

But if you're anywhere else in the world, don't worry! You can still enter. We're also offering motion graphics and animated films too.

All you have to do is like us on Facebook and send us a message.

The winner will be announced Friday 1st August 2014 at 4pm AEST

Thank you!

Nick & Melissa Love Fest

Firstly, let me introduce to you the divine creature that is Melissa Ambrosini. This beauty is not just a pretty face. She is an author, speaker, coach, presenter and self love guru. We fell in love with Mel the first time we met her and her journey to where she is today is inspiring. Her gorgeous husband Nick Broadhurst is equally as brilliant. He's a talented musician and saxophonist with an EP in the not so distant future. Together they are the ultimate power couple. By embracing healthy living, meditation and good vibes they have created a life together that we are in awe of.
When Mel first asked us to film her wedding we were so flattered to be a part of such an epic day. The whole concept was based on a Love Fest, filled with music, dance, love, quality food, organic drinks and did we mention love?

Set on Cooroy Mountain over looking the Sunshine Coast were two giant Teepee's surround by incredible styling from Sophie at PeppaHart. There are no other words to describe this day but epic and so completely full of love.

When planning this film, we knew that this wedding needed to be approached from a new perspective. Mel had such a clear vision for her day, we wanted to make sure that she had a film to match it. I pitched a more high end video to Mel and she loved it. We wanted to bring aspects of 'high end perfume commercial' to the film. Partly so we could show off, but mostly because we know how comfortable Mel was in front of a camera and how spectacular her and Nick would look. We designed our own water colour treatment to add to titles and drew some inspiration from Mel's website and branding and from that. We have produced our most crazy film so far.

Now please, switch on HD, open this video to full screen and turn up the volume. The next 7 minutes will take you on a love filled journey and have you wanting exactly what this dream girl has. LOVE

2014 so far...

Finding time each week to write a blog about what we've been up to is far more difficult than we thought. So I thought I would give you a quick re cap of our adventures.

February 19th we departed for Switzerland and it was magical.
Here's a little teaser video we made while away… Knowing Digby there is a bigger film in the making.
Bellow are also a few snap shots!

We returned at the end of March to dive deep into a crazy schedule. Since then we've been in Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay and Noosa filming gorgeous weddings, TV Commercials and Corporate Films. Digby has been editing non stop since we returned and this week we're about to release Nick & Melissa's Love Fest.
Now if you haven't heard about this sexy power couple, you should look them up. Especially before you watch their wedding film. Their wedding was set on a private property on Coorory Mountain amongst fair lights, giant tipis and fire twirlers. The food was 100% organic and paleo. There was zero alcohol and instead an organic juice bar, a smoothy bar, a tea station and lots lots more. The guests were entertained by taro readers, fire twirlers and the groom himself Nick Broadhurst (one of the original sneaky sound system) Everyone sung and danced the night away to the best music and DJs on offer. We can't wait to share it with you.

A week after the Love Fest we shot Scott and Ashleigh's romantic and intimate wedding at Spicers Clovelly. Planned and designed by Lovebird Weddings the day was a dream. Both for the bride and groom and us. Trudy runs a mean schedule and the days with her always flow seamlessly.

Since then we've been working non stop on 9 corporate online films for a health and wellbeing blog. Signed a lease agreement on our first ever office space in Fortitude Valley. Bumped into The Brides Market in Wooloongabba. Filmed and edited a slightly dark and moody style shoot at Yandina Station and started designing our stall for A Darling Affair in July.

We're now taking bookings for the end of 2014 and start of 2015. Please send us an email if you want to have a chat.

Daniel and Kate's Gorgeous Hinterland Wedding

*Kate and dan Title.png

Dan and Kate wanted a wedding that wasn't so much about them and more a celebration of their love, focusing on their friends, family, food and music. They rented a gorgeous moroccan styled villa in the hinterland behind Byron Bay and celebrated with a simple ceremony and fabulous house party. Asian inspired catering and an ice-cream bar brought the guests together over live music and delicious food. There wasn't a whole lot tradition about this wedding, aside from the stunning bride, excited groom and a beautiful exchange of vows .
The day started out picturesque and warm but as the ceremony approach a glorious storm rolled over the venue. Brooding skies and heavy rain turned the sunny wonderland into a luscious, green serenity surrounded by spectacular displays of natures power. Dan and Kate weren't phased by the weather the slightest, in fact, we think they enjoyed filming in it.
The atmosphere as electric and full of close friendships and love.
It was our total pleasure to be a part of their day and capture it all just for them.

2013 From beginning to end

This year has been the hardest of my life.

Together, Digby and I set out on the big scary path of a business together. It's been damn hard, a lot harder than either of us thought. But we've had such huge support from local vendors and businesses that we're now here… We're now Lester & May

This year I have learnt so much about myself. I have found strength that I never knew I had and felt pain that I never thought I would. From this, I have grown and changed.

I've been lazy and busy and so tired that I could sleep for days. I've had sickness and health and money and nothing. I lost everything important to me and gained it all back. I cared for and assisted injured and sick loved ones and I think for the first time in my life, I truly put others before myself.

I may not have traveled the world, made more money than i knew what to do with or lost that stupid 10kg but I think that 2013 for me, was the best and worst thing I've ever done.

I worked on some incredible films and with some amazing directors, including Angelina Jolie. I met some inspiring couples and captured so many gorgeous weddings.

I'm grateful for my few dear friends and family, my partner in crime, Digby and for being able to work when I want to, play when I want to and create, what ever the hell I want to.

Come at me 2014, you can't possible rock me as much as 2013

Water Colour Style Shoot

Yay! We can finally release this gorgeous film.
A couple of months ago we had the pleasure to capture a stunning and creative style shoot.
As soon as Roberta mentioned water colour we were so excited to be a part of the amazing vendors working together to create this shoot.
If you're looking for a creative and cinematic film for your wedding please contact us! We'd love the opportunity to film your big day and create a film just like this one.
Thank you to Green Wedding Shoes for feature us and an even bigger thank you to our amazing Vendors.

Look out Sydney!

Lester and May will be exploring Sydney for 3 weeks in September. We're heading down on the 7th and are calling out for any weddings that might not have a videographer attached who'd like to take us up on a half priced offer!

$2600 for a gorgeous 10 minute wedding film!

Email us if you're interested!

We're excited to spend our weekends with happy couples in love.

The Making Of!

We thought we would put together a little film of our latest project that shows you a ( very fast) insight into our film making post process.

We edited this project in Premier Pro because the work flow between After Effects is amazing.

In total it took Digby and our edit assistant 70 hours to complete the edit and animation.

please enjoy!

Sunshine Coast Digital Invitation

A few weeks ago we were contacted by an incredibly gorgeous couple from the Sunshine Coast, QLD. They had been planning on a beach wedding however, due to family localities decided to move their wedding to Melbourne. The bride-to-be sent me a wonderful mood board that she had created for her dream wedding. From there we planned a quirky urban water coloured themed animation for them, which would be filmed on the beautiful beach next to their home. This meant that the couple got to have their dream beach location incorporated with their wedding, and still kept the style consistency and relevance to Melbourne.

Such a perfect afternoon!

Such a perfect afternoon!

Perfect sunset to end the day

Perfect sunset to end the day

Pete & Danica

So we've been busy little bee's the past month and now you're about to see why!

We'd love to introduce you to the stunning Mr & Mrs McKey and their gorgeous wedding at Boomerang Farm

As our first official Lester and May Wedding, we're very fond of this film and even more so of Pete and Danica. Together they make the most inspiring couple. We were so lucky to be invited into their special day to capture the beauty and romance in our own unique way. They were both completely open to any creative idea that we threw at them and as you're about to see, look insanely hot on camera!
Please, sit back and enjoy the cinematic gift that is about to grace your screen. It's quirky, fun, heartwarming and beautiful.

And together, Digby and myself are super proud to officially release.... Pete and Danica, The Wedding.

P.S Be sure to watch it in HD, full screen with your sound turned up!

Justin & Maddy

This gorgeous Save The Date is one of my favourites. I had the pleasure of designing and building this set for our lovely couple and it couldn't have been more magical.
Maddy and Justin arrived dressed perfectly and together they look amazing.
If you're interested in our Save the Dates or Digital Invites. Please send us an email!

Damon & Greta

We're a bit excited about this post!

Firstly, let me warn you, this film has some 'naughty' language. So put in your head phones if you're in the office, or wait for the kids to be in bed.

Damon and Greta have let us really show a different side with this digital save the date.
We got to push the boundaries of what is seen as conventional and 'acceptable' in the wedding world, which is something we've been really excited about.

As you know we're from a commercial world and we really wanted to showcase what we can do for weddings. We have an edge. We don't follow the rules and we're looking for couples who want to create films that stand up and stand out. From urban music videos to cinematic romantic films. We have the creative drive to create them all.

Please share us around and like us on facebook. We really want to start changing how people see weddings and the wedding industry. We want to help create weddings that are unique and have character. Whilst capturing it all for you to remember.

Some of our commercial work...

Hey Everyone,

I just thought I might share some of our past work with you! Lots of people have been asking what other things we do so I thought there is no easier way than to show you!

Here are some cool photos and videos : )

I had 2 fun days of working with these guys! Sponge Bob and Dora for their 2012 Summer campaign. Film at the Gold Coast Studios

Digby had the chance to work on Jimmy Barnes Latest music video! (I'm kinda jealous)

I loved working on Strange Calls for the ABC. Barry Crocker and Toby Truslove are the funniest guys ever. No exaggeration. I was in tears of laughter daily!

Filming the new Dino Island TVCs for Seaworld in 2012

Pringles, Japan TVC! such a longggg night

Korean TVC... epic is an understatement. 24 hours on set, with an hour drive home afterwards

So, we are finally up and running. Holy cow, something that seems so easy, really takes so much time.

We wanted to make sure our website was as close to perfect as possible, however the big time consumer for us has been our product.
We are both so committed to delivering products with class, creativity and consistency, it probably takes us twice as long as some other production companies to be 100% satisfied. (Which doesn't sound like the most viable business plan, however it's how we operate our whole lives.)

So, over the next few weeks we have lots to release!

Now that we can walk again (Digby DESTROYED his back skate boarding and got the all clear from surgeons today) and that my schedule is somewhat relaxing... we can really start creating.

We are in the very final stages of our next Digital Invitation with a really fun couple from Currumbin. You should see this online by the weekend. We had a gorgeous sunrise shoot on the beach and have mixed it up with a funky, fast paced, stop motion edit and thrown in some cool animation. It really suits their fun, beachy lifestyle.

We also 3/4 of the way through a really urban Digital Invitation. Cut to a song that may offend, we do warn you! It mixes a young couple with graffiti, hip hop and culture.

We're about to begin a 100% animated save the date of a gorgeous Melbourne couple. We're drawing inspiration from their engagement photos and the amazing colour pallets and style boards they have created for the day.

Then we have Pete and Danica's wedding, which has taken us a little longer than expected, however in all honesty, this is our baby, and we want to give it alllll the time it takes for us to make it perfect. We don't see the point in rushing quality. And if we can't give ourselves to it 150% we'd rather take an extra week and make sure everyone is happy before delivering.

On top of that, we have SO MANY shoots booked in and lots of inquiries. Plenty of Vendors are contacting us too. Which excites us greatly because we can use our commercial skills with our creative sides to create wonderful online films and content.

Keep an eye out! lots to come

Digital Options

Do you hate being on film? So do I!!
Digby made this gorgeous video as a Christmas present for me as a testament to our relationship, our history, the ups & downs we have met along the way to create OUR STORY. Something like this is completely customisable and we can work it into your digital invitations or anything you dream of!

Be jealous! I have a truly amazing partner in life. No matter what happens the world always seems to bring us back together. And that is our story.

Thank you Feather and Stone

The amazing couple that are Feather and Stone Photography somehow managed to find the time to take some gorgeous photos of myself and Digby. 2 Days before they moved to Botswana on a raining afternoon, we were lucky enough to capture these...

They fill my heart with the most overwhelming feelings. To have the opportunity to capture our love and friendship on film so perfectly is something we will treasure for the rest of our lives. We are incredibly grateful.

Thank you Feather and Stone!
